Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Laguna Renovates Arena Borregos

Tecnológico de Monterrey campus Laguna has invested 12 million pesos to renovate the Arena Borregos Santiago A. Garza de la Mora in Torreón, Coahuila, updating the facility with high-end sports flooring and multi-use equipment. To mark the reopening, a homecoming gathering of former and current basketball players has been called for Saturday, October 10, beginning at 9:30 a.m. local time.

The facility upgrade and subsequent EXATEC reunion bring together generations of athletes who competed for the Borregos Laguna men’s and women’s basketball programs. According to program announcements, the event will feature 3×3 basketball matches and a social gathering for alumni to reconnect at the freshly modernized campus venue.

Venue Overhaul Installs Certified International Sports Surface

The 12-million-peso overhaul of the venue centered on the installation of a new Pulastic Classic 90 sports surface in blue. This high-end flooring holds international certifications from major sports governing bodies, including the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), the International Handball Federation (IHF), and the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

Beyond the basketball court, the multi-purpose auditorium received comprehensive updates to its supporting infrastructure. Renovations included modernized audio systems, electrical wiring, and lifting equipment designed to accommodate high-level theatrical productions, robotics competitions such as FIRST, and institutional gatherings.

Homecoming Event Invites Alumni for Matches and Gathering
