Infrastructure Shortfalls at Parco Ragazzi di Sarajevo
The baseball club currently utilizes the field at the Parco Ragazzi di Sarajevo in the Petriccio district. While the facility serves as a focal point for youth activity, it cannot support competitive games across all categories or accommodate senior team training sessions, according to the club’s public statement. Consequently, the organization must play its home fixtures outside the municipal territory.
The association currently numbers approximately one hundred members, including athletes, technicians, and volunteers. Beyond competitive play, the club organizes school programs, training courses, and seasonal camps, alongside free initiatives aimed at families with young children and those facing economic hardship.
Calls for Integration of Minor Sports in Public Planning
Club representatives emphasized that they are not seeking special privileges or pitting baseball against other athletic disciplines. Instead, the organization has appealed to local authorities to ensure that the needs of minor sports are not left at the margins of public infrastructure planning.
As part of its proposal, the club has already donated a project for a new facility in Isola d’Arbia to the municipal administration. While acknowledging fiscal realities and rejecting demands for immediate investments that exceed public availability, the club called for a clear timeline, specific tools, and defined objectives.

Future Collaboration and Private Partnerships
The organization has confirmed its willingness to collaborate with the municipal government and other local entities to address facility shortages. This cooperative approach includes exploring potential involvement from private sponsors and commercial partners to support the development of local sports infrastructure.
The milestone of fifty years of baseball in Siena approaches in 2028, underscoring the urgency for a venue that meets official senior category standards within the city limits.
