Shane Larkin Misses Panathinaikos Game for Strength Training, Eurohoops Reports

Fenerbahçe Tarfin guard Shane Larkin has been left off the travel roster for the team’s upcoming Turkish Airlines EuroLeague away fixture against Panathinaikos, Eurohoops reported. The club confirmed that the veteran star remained in Istanbul to complete a specialized strength-building program rather than traveling to the Greek capital for Wednesday’s Round 4 matchup.

Istanbul Training Regimen Replaces Athens Trip

Larkin has no active injury and completed his medical treatment earlier, according to Eurohoops. Coaching staff and medical personnel opted to keep the guard in Istanbul to follow a tailored conditioning schedule designed to build physical resilience following an early-season absence.

The decision keeps Larkin off the floor for one of the early-season marquee games in the EuroLeague. Tip-off is scheduled for Wednesday evening, Oct. 8, at the OAKA Altion in Athens, Greece, where Fenerbahçe will face Panathinaikos without their backcourt addition.

Larkin missed the start of the season due to a knee injury before returning to action last weekend. He made his official debut for the yellow-navy side in a Basketbol Süper Ligi contest against Biotekno Körfez Basket, logging 16 minutes of playing time and finishing with 3 points and 1 rebound.

EuroLeague Round 4 Stakes in Athens

Fenerbahçe Tarfin enters the hostile Athens arena missing a key rotation piece as they play through the demanding early schedule of Europe's premier club basketball competition. Panathinaikos hosts the fixture on their home floor, presenting an immediate test for the Turkish side’s depth in the backcourt.

The club has not announced a revised timeline for Larkin’s full integration into the traveling squad, though his retention in Istanbul is viewed strictly as a preparatory measure rather than a setback from his recent knee rehabilitation.
