SC Freiburg Reports Record Revenue of 212.1 Million Euros

SC Freiburg reported a record-breaking turnover of 212.1 million euros for the 2025/26 season, driven by deep cup runs and strong player transfers, according to financial figures released by the club.

Record Financial Figures Announced at Annual General Meeting

Football-Bundesligist SC Freiburg generated total revenues of 212.1 million euros during the 2025/26 campaign, establishing a new financial benchmark for the club. The milestone figures were officially communicated during the club’s annual general meeting. The latest revenue total eclipses the previous high-water mark set during the 2023/24 season, when the Breisgauer first crossed the 200-million-euro threshold with 203.1 million euros.

By comparison, the preceding 2024/25 campaign yielded 162.8 million euros in revenue, a term during which the club operated without additional European competition income. Alongside the record turnover, SC Freiburg posted a net annual surplus of 30.5 million euros for the 2025/26 financial year, marking a substantial increase from the 11.8 million euro profit reported for 2024/25.

Sporting Success Fuels Revenue Growth and Balance Sheet Strength

The record financial results directly reflect the most successful sporting season in club history. SC Freiburg advanced to the Europa League final in Istanbul and reached the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal, generating lucrative income from both major competitions. High transfer surpluses also contributed significantly to the financial package. Alongside these windfall earnings, the club experienced steady growth across all other revenue streams.

Oliver Leki, the club’s board member for finance, organization, and marketing, emphasized the health of the institution’s financial model. “The 2025/26 season was outstanding both athletically and economically. Reaching the Europa League final in Istanbul, advancing to the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal—and the associated revenues from both competitions—as well as high transfer surpluses have contributed significantly,” Leki stated. “Added to this is steady growth in all other revenue areas. Our income and expenditure structure remains completely intact.”

Total assets expanded to 244.7 million euros compared to 197.9 million euros previously, while the organization maintained its longstanding policy of carrying zero bank liabilities.
