Judoka Sarah Ischt advanced to the pool final at the tournament after securing hard-fought victories over Uzbekistan’s representative and Turkey’s Tugce Beder, according to the German Judo Federation (Deutscher Judo-Bund).
Opening Victory Secured in Golden Score Against Uzbekistan
Sarah Ischt opened her tournament campaign with a bye before facing an aggressive opponent from Uzbekistan in her first active match. The Uzbek competitor entered the contest with high confidence and immediately launched several attacking sequences that ultimately missed their mark. As the bout progressed, Ischt found her rhythm and began manufacturing scoring opportunities of her own. With three minutes elapsed, the Uzbek fighter received a penalty, followed by a penalty issued to Ischt in the final second of regulation for pulling her opponent down, forcing the match into golden score. Just 31 seconds into the extra period, Ischt earned a yuko score to seal the win and book her place in the next round.
Tough Battle Against Tugce Beder Leads to Pool Final
In the subsequent round, Ischt faced Tugce Beder of Turkey, who picked up two penalties within the opening minute of action. While that initially provided a comfortable cushion, Ischt collected two penalties of her own over the following two minutes. That even tally sent the two athletes into another golden score period. Both judokas tightly contested grips and neutralized most offensive entries for nearly a minute and a half of overtime. Ischt finally broke through with a decisive attacking attempt that yielded a yuko score, securing the victory and a spot in the pool final, which guarantees her a tournament placement.

Ischt Awaits Next Match in Medal Rounds
With her pool final berth secured, Ischt awaits her next scheduled appearance on the tatami as the tournament progresses toward the medal rounds. The German Judo Federation continues to provide official updates regarding draw sheets and session times as competition unfolds.
