The San-en NeoPhoenix professional basketball club has teamed up with Aichi University’s Regional Policy Department to launch the Dunker Tsushin, a student-produced information medium distributed to elementary and middle schools across the Higashimkawa region.
Student Collaboration and Regional Sports Growth in Higashimkawa
The joint production effort between San-en NeoPhoenix and Aichi University operates under an existing comprehensive partnership agreement and a specific 26-27 season collaboration framework. University students from the Regional Policy Department’s Won Jeong-wook seminar—which focuses on sports sociology and sports management—worked alongside club staff to shape the publication. The initiative targets students in Toyohashi, Toyokawa, Gamagori, Shinshiro, and Tahara, with the primary objective of raising team recognition, encouraging home game attendance, and ultimately stimulating local sports activity across the region.
Publication Schedule and Content Strategy for Dunker Tsushin
Scheduled for three separate releases between October 2026 and January 2027, the first issue of Dunker Tsushin began reaching local classrooms in mid-October 2026. The publication is designed to introduce young readers and their families to the excitement of basketball and home fixtures at club venues. To maximize accessibility, the student production team structured the viewing experience into five distinct steps for first-time attendees, while incorporating a promotional giveaway of cheering noisemakers (harisen) for matchday spectators.
