Future Stars arrives earlier than ever in EA SPORTS FC™ 27, launching its latest promo campaign alongside a wave of new gameplay systems, structural changes, and tracking frameworks.
Rio Ngumoha Headlines Future Stars Team 1 After Previous Run
Future Stars Team 1 steps onto the virtual pitch led by Rio Ngumoha, one of England’s most promising young talents. Ngumoha established himself as one of the most popular Future Stars Academy Players in EA SPORTS FC™ 26, where player items utilizing his likeness racked up more than 37.5 million goals and over 30.7 million assists across a massive pool of player evolutions. He anchors a release featuring rising prospects drawn from across The World’s Game, bringing immediate squad-building options to competitive and casual players alike.
Tracking Real-World Performance for Live Upgrades Starting February 3
The progression path for this year’s player items shifts entirely to real-world metrics. Tracking across domestic league matches begins on October 9, establishing a multi-month window before live upgrades deploy on February 3. Upgrades are strictly tied to on-pitch output in domestic fixtures, with distinct criteria established for different positions on the pitch:
- Forwards and midfielders earn boosts based on goals and assists.
- Defenders and goalkeepers qualify for clean sheet upgrades, provided the specific player features directly in the match.
- Base PlayStyles receive a plus-one tier bump if the item already carries one PS+, while players maxed out at five WF ratings receive 5* SM instead.
Future Stars Academy Evolutions Return for ST and CAM Prospects
The Academy system makes its comeback to turn present-day prodigies into ready-made superstars. Users can select any eligible striker or central attacking midfielder born on or after October 9, 2003, enrolling them directly into the Academy framework. Advancing through a sequence of four Academy Evolutions builds a custom Future Star. An accompanying Future Stars Academy Objective drops during Future Stars, granting rewards for using these developmental player items in active matches.
Squad Building Challenges and Puzzle SBCs Deliver Rolling Rewards
A dedicated suite of Squad Building Challenges accompanies the promo schedule to keep fodder moving through clubs. The content drop features a mix of individual Player SBCs designed to secure specific promotional items, alongside puzzle-based challenges tailored for pack rewards and progression fodder throughout the duration of the event.
