Richarlison asks PF to probe Flávio Bolsonaro over mansion

Luxury Estate Dispute Triggers Federal Investigation Request

Tottenham forward Richarlison has asked the Polícia Federal to investigate Flávio Bolsonaro over the contested ownership of a luxury mansion in Angra dos Reis.

In a video published on social media, the Brazil international claimed the property on Ilha Comprida was taken through judicial maneuvers without proper compensation after he refused to sell it to the lawmaker.

Millions Invested in Coastal Property Near Private Waterfall

The dispute centers on a coastal estate equipped with a private waterfall near the local airport in the Rio de Janeiro region, where Richarlison and his business partners invested approximately R$ 10 million following its purchase between 2020 and 2021.

According to the player’s account in the video, multiple interested parties approached him to buy the mansion after his acquisition, including Flávio Bolsonaro. After declining those purchase offers, Richarlison stated that associates of the senator utilized court filings to secure possession of the estate within a 24-hour window while his legal team was still processing documentation.

Conflicting Timelines Emerge From Rio de Janeiro Court Records

Court records from Rio de Janeiro detail a different procedural timeline for the property battle, which stretches back to 2020. The mansion originally became the subject of a repossession order in 2022 filed by M Locadora, a company represented by an attorney associated with lawyer Willer Tomaz.

The firm argued it held historical rights to the land dating back to the 1980s. The Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice and higher instances eventually recognized possession in favor of Tomaz’s clients.

A Rio de Janeiro court sentence then extinguished the process in October 2025 without examining the merits following a waiver by A Yta Consultoria, Sport 70 Intermediação de Negócios, and Renato Rocha Velasco—parties linked to Richarlison—before the case reached a final ruling and archive status in January 2026.

Political Repercussions and Denials From the Senator’s Camp

Public figures and political campaigns have seized on the social media statements as the dispute gained renewed traction. Edinho Silva, national president of the Workers’ Party and political coordinator for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s campaign, questioned the allegations during a press briefing in Brasília, pointing to the accusations as part of broader controversies surrounding the senator.

Meanwhile, representatives for Flávio Bolsonaro have consistently denied any irregular involvement with the property, maintaining that the senator has only a friendship with Willer Tomaz and describing past claims as factually unfounded and politically motivated.

Legal Counter-Claims and Civil Lawsuit Filed in Brasília

Legal representatives for the other side have also pushed back against the player’s public assertions. Through a public statement, Willer Tomaz challenged Richarlison to produce any document predating July 2022 linking him to the Angra dos Reis property, including proof of the alleged R$ 10 million investment.

Tomaz noted that Richarlison was never formally a party to the underlying court proceedings, pointing out that the player only appeared as a witness named by Alencar da Silveira, an ex-deputy and former business associate of the footballer. Tomaz added that his legal team filed a civil lawsuit in Brasília seeking moral damages against the player over his social media commentary.

As the federal police investigation request undergoes preliminary review, Richarlison has maintained that his primary objective is recovering his financial outlays rather than reclaiming the island itself.

The forward stated that if he successfully recovers the funds, he intends to donate a portion of the money to a hospital in his hometown of Nova Venécia, Espírito Santo.
