Indonesia Doubles Up in BWF Rankings After French Open Run
Indonesian men’s doubles pairs Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin alongside Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin have climbed the latest Badminton World Federation standings following strong tournament runs. Juara.net reported that the two pairs advanced in the rankings update issued on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, on the official BWF platform. Raymond and Joaquin moved up two spots to reach 12th place globally, accumulating a total of 61,486 points after reaching the semifinal stage at the French Open 2026 held from October 20 to 25.
Moving up six positions from 25th to 19th place, the pair capitalized on the post-tournament recalculation alongside other national representatives.
French Open Semifinal Run Propels Raymond and Joaquin
Raymond and Joaquin’s ascent to 12th in the world stems directly from their performance at the BWF World Tour stop in France. The pair collected 61,486 points by pushing deep into the weekend rounds. Their tournament path featured a notable victory over China’s Chen Bo Yang and Liu Yi in the earlier stages. Although the semifinal loss to Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun halted their championship ambitions, the points earned were enough to lift them two places from their previous rank of 14th.

Entering the draw as the fourth-seeded men’s doubles entry, they faced the host nation’s Jonathan Dresp and Simon Krax in the opening 32-round match on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
Leo and Daniel Leap Six Spots in Global Standings
Leo and Daniel outpaced several peers in the weekly update by jumping six positions in a single rankings cycle.

Disway Malang noted that Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri held the second spot in the world rankings with 96,703 points, trailing South Korea’s Kim Won-ho and Seo Seung-jae, who led with 114,099 points. In addition, Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Muhammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani anchored the seventh position with 72,396 points, demonstrating depth in the national doubles division.
Transition to Upcoming European Tournaments
With the French Open concluded, players on the BWF circuit immediately turned their attention to subsequent stops on the European calendar. The accumulation of points from Super 750 and Super 500 tiers continues to dictate seedings for upcoming international championships as pairs battle for position ahead of the season’s closing months.
