Rabat American School Opens Applications for Seasonal Sports Coaching Roles

Rabat American School has opened applications for three seasonal coaching positions across its basketball and badminton programs for the upcoming academic calendar, offering short-term service contracts structured for independent professionals in Morocco.

Seasonal Coaching Vacancies Open at Rabat American School

Founded in 1962, the private non-profit institution serves students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 using an English-language curriculum accredited by the Middle States Association and the International Baccalaureate Organization. The school’s athletics department operates under the supervision of the director of activities and sports, managing varsity and junior varsity teams that compete locally and regionally.

The newly announced openings cover a basketball head coach, a basketball assistant coach, and a badminton head coach. All three roles require candidates to operate under a service provider status in Morocco, meaning applicants must hold valid auto-entrepreneur registration or company status, alongside an active tax identifier and an ICE number to process invoices at the end of each season.

Basketball Staffing Roster for the 2026-2027 Season

The basketball season runs for 10 weeks, spanning from November 16, 2026, to February 6, 2027.

The basketball head coach position carries an 8,000 MAD remuneration package, payable upon completion of the season via invoice. Responsibilities include building a competitive program for students in Grades 6 through 12, directing at least eight hours of weekly training and tactical preparation for varsity and junior varsity squads, and communicating regularly with players, parents, and school administration. The head coach will also travel with the team for external tournaments, including fixtures in Cairo from December 3 to December 6, and additional events in Casablanca across January and February.

Operating alongside the head coach, the basketball assistant coach position covers the same 10-week window with a remuneration of 5,000 MAD. The assistant is tasked with running technical drills, positional work, and tactical circuits for at least five hours per week, while assisting with bench management, match statistics, player rotations, and tournament logistics. Both basketball roles require professional English fluency, competitive basketball playing or coaching experience, reliability, and mandatory background screening for minor protection.

Badminton Program Schedule and Technical Requirements

The badminton season begins in the new year, running for 10 weeks from January 4 to March 20, 2027. Training sessions are held on Mondays from 3:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The badminton head coach will receive an 8,000 MAD seasonal fee, payable upon invoice at the conclusion of the term. The assignment involves designing a 10-week progressive technical syllabus for students from Grade 6 to Grade 12 covering biomechanics, footwork, singles and doubles strategy, and physical conditioning. The coach will lead at least eight hours of weekly training, organize internal rankings, and accompany the squad to friendly fixtures as well as the MASAC regional tournament in Ifrane from March 17 to March 20. Applicants must demonstrate technical expertise in badminton coaching or competitive playing experience, full professional English proficiency, and submit to background checks.

Application Process and Submission Deadlines

All three positions report directly to the school’s director of activities and sports. Applications remain open until the roles are filled.

Interested candidates must submit a curriculum vitae and a motivation letter detailing their athletic background and coaching philosophy to [email protected]. Applicants are required to specify the exact title of the position they are applying for in the subject line of their correspondence, and must verify their active legal status as service providers in Morocco prior to appointment.
