Mini-Team Competition Kicks Off Saturday in Reutlingen

Twenty-four squads competed across two divisions during Saturday’s mini-team event, which featured eight teams in Class A and 16 in Class B. Participants played best-of-three sets to 15 points, utilizing a scoring format scheduled for wider international adoption in 2027. Teams adopted lighthearted monikers such as “Federballfetzer,” “Netz oder Nie,” and “GenZ und der Saurier” over approximately 10 hours of play in Reutlingen. Max Duong-Dreher and Karin Geisenhofer authored the club report on the event.

In the Class A bracket, Team “GenZ und der Saurier” secured first place, followed by “Ist mir Egal” in second and “Egelseer Maschinenpark” in third. Meanwhile, the Class B division concluded with “Isch egal” taking the top spot, “Die Dinos” claiming second, and “Die Racketiers” rounding out the podium in third.

Hobby Players Contest Sunday RFC Tournament

Sunday shifted focus to recreational players with the 21st RFC tournament, which registered 22 entries in the men’s doubles category and ten pairs in the mixed discipline. Competitors chased down difficult shots and executed sustained rallies throughout the day, according to tournament organizers.

Youth members of the PSV Reutlingen badminton division assisted with event logistics and catering alongside food donations provided by adult participants. Katharina Bendel captured the event photographs, and additional pictures from both days are available at https://www.psv-reutlingen.de/badminton in the media gallery.
