Pays de la Loire Wins French Regional Para-Athletics Championship

Led by a ten-athlete delegation, the Pays de la Loire regional delegation secured victory at the French Regional Para-Athletics Championship on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, in Florange, Moselle. The team finished atop the standings with 10,660 points, outpacing runner-up Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and third-place Hauts-de-France.

The championship gathered regional contingents from across France to compete in a combined scoring format where every individual event directly contributed points to a team total. Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes finished the day in second position with 9,962 points, while Hauts-de-France rounded out the podium in third place with 9,562 points.

Jade Wurmser Leads Pays De La Loire to Victory

The victorious Pays de la Loire squad featured competitors drawn from four different organizations across the region. Six athletes represented the Racing Club Nantais, two competed for Athlétisme Saint Barthelemy Anjou, one hailed from Ouest Vendée Athlétisme, and another represented École Départementale-Handisport-72.

Individual point contributions propelled the region to the top step of the podium. Jade Wurmser led the delegation’s standout performances by accumulating 1,079 points within her respective category. Teammates Helliot Lamago Poirrier and Alexandre Bothamy added crucial totals to the team ledger with 871 points and 718 points respectively in their events.
