Pallacanestro Don Bosco returns to home turf this weekend to face Basket San Vincenzo in a challenging Serie C fixture at the PalaMacchia, with tip-off scheduled for 18:45 local time on Saturday. Pallacanestro Don Bosco heads into the matchup looking to establish greater consistency following early-season challenges, while San Vincenzo arrives as one of the league’s three co-leaders under coach Baroni.
PalaMacchia Hosts Unbeaten Co-Leader San Vincenzo
The visiting San Vincenzo squad has started the campaign with three consecutive victories, most recently securing a road win against newcomer Valdelsa. That undefeated run places Baroni’s side at the summit of the Serie C standings alongside two other clubs, presenting a formidable test for the hosts.
Pallacanestro Don Bosco enters the fixture aiming to bounce back from uneven stretches in previous outings. Coach Lorenzo Grison emphasized the need for sustained energy and focus across all four quarters to counter San Vincenzo’s strong early-season momentum.
Roster Depth and Tactical Matchups for Don Bosco
San Vincenzo brings an experienced lineup to Livorno, anchored by center Leonardo Salvadori, who leads the team with an average of 14 points per game. Power forward Lorenzo Pistillo provides another consistent scoring threat, averaging 12.3 points per contest in double figures.
Beyond the frontcourt duo, the visitors feature former Don Bosco player Stefano Mori alongside backcourt options Bertini, Bongini, and Biancani. To disrupt San Vincenzo’s rhythm, Grison noted that his squad must execute a clean game plan built on high defensive intensity and fast-paced transition play, mirroring the approach that secured their home victory against Pino Firenze.
Coach Grison Prepares Squad for High-Energy Clash
Reflecting on the challenges of the opening weeks, Grison pointed to lapses in concentration during earlier fixtures as a primary area for improvement. The technical staff has worked to ensure the team learns from those prior experiences ahead of Saturday’s encounter.
