Nine young players have secured the 2026 Djarum Badminton Scholarship following a selection process that drew 2,140 participants across three Indonesian cities, voi.id reported. The successful candidates passed through regional auditions in Banjarmasin, Makassar, and Kudus before earning their places in the PB Djarum club after a rigorous two-stage isolation camp.
Banjarmasin, Makassar, and Kudus Audition Cities
The talent search spanned three regional hubs to capture a wider pool of prospects. Banjarmasin contributed 15 athletes to the selection pool, Makassar produced 16, and Kudus yielded 36, bringing the total number of Super Ticket winners to 67. PB Djarum 2026 audition talent search team chairman Sigit Budiarto noted that hosting trials across multiple locations created a more diverse roster of participants. Hosting auditions in three cities allowed us to see the potential and personality of athletes from different regions,
Budiarto said.
Nine Selected Athletes Across U-11 and U-12 Divisions
The final nine successful scholarship recipients are divided across five specific age and gender categories. In the under-11 girls’ singles (KU-11), Vicky Lee Alison and Elise Elena Sembiring earned selection alongside singles player RR Aneta Safara Bilqis Sholih. The boys’ under-11 division (KU-11) features Roussel Junior Sumar, Azaka Aditama, and Azaka Azfar Rabbani. The under-12 brackets include boys’ competitors Felix Zebua and Mu Faiz Attala, alongside girls’ singles player Elencia Clarista.
Training Demands and Long-Term Development Goals
Budiarto explained that the selection committee evaluated not just current technical skills, but also each player’s alignment with the club’s training environment. We hope they show great enthusiasm and determination in training, because becoming a professional hitter is still a long journey,
Budiarto said. PB Djarum women’s singles coach coordinator Hendrawan echoed that sentiment, noting that the evaluation process weighs current potential against future development. Whatever the result announced today, I hope the children stay positive and keep working hard.
Success at the beginning does not necessarily mean success at the end, and failure at the beginning does not mean failure at the end,
Hendrawan said.
