Seeman Banned Two Games Over MetLife Stadium Insult
“This type of behavior from an official toward a player is unacceptable,” JC Tretter stated on X.
The National Football League has suspended line judge Jeff Seeman for two games and referee Adrian Hill for one game following unprofessional conduct incidents during Sunday’s slate of games. The disciplinary actions were issued by Ramon George, the league’s vice president of officiating, marking the first time NFL officials have been suspended in 11 years.
The two-game suspension handed to Jeff Seeman stems from an on-field altercation at MetLife Stadium during Sunday’s games. According to reports, Seeman visibly insulted Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride following a play. In response to the remarks, McBride simply pointed at a nearby camera to signal that the interaction was being filmed.
NFLPA Executive Director Calls Out Double Standards
Tretter, the executive director of the NFLPA, voiced his strong displeasure regarding the conduct on social media shortly after the games concluded.

“Players are systematically held accountable when roles are reversed,” Tretter stated on X. “We expect the NFL to hold its officials to the same standard.”
Adrian Hill Penalized After Minnesota Vikings Collision
Adrian Hill received a one-game suspension following a separate incident involving Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson. The penalty was levied after Hill reacted when Wilson offered to help the referee back to his feet following a late-game collision on the field.
League Office Breaks Decade-Long Officiating Precedent
Prior to Sunday’s announcements, the last time the NFL suspended an official took place in November 2015.
