NFL España opens NFL Culture Club Madrid at Fundación Ortega-Marañón

NFL España has launched the NFL Culture Club Madrid, a three-day multidisciplinary event at the Fundación Ortega-Marañón, designed to intersect American football with Spanish and Latin American cultural influences. The project, which officially opened this week in the center of Madrid, integrates fashion, music, art, and gastronomy to engage fans beyond the standard game-day experience.

Rafael De los Santos outlines the project’s scope

Rafael De los Santos, president of the NFL in Spain, introduced the initiative by emphasizing that the league’s footprint extends well beyond the gridiron. “It is a pleasure to open this first edition together with the Community of Madrid,” De los Santos said during the inaugural event. “The NFL is lived in many ways, on and off the field. During these three days, music, gastronomy, film, and fashion will allow us to unite Spain, Latin America, and the United States through artists and their ideas.”

Music performances reflect global Hispanic culture

The event schedule highlights music as a central pillar, featuring performances by artists such as Vreno Yg and Raul Clyde, alongside sessions from La Granja Sound, mami, and Miss Aleta. Organizers have incorporated the “RIMAS Room”—a space dedicated to the record label that represents artists including Bad Bunny—to offer exclusive content and fan experiences. The programming is designed to reflect the growing global influence of Hispanic culture and its connection to the United States.

NFL Culture Club Madrid blends sport with art

The NFL Culture Club Madrid program includes several thematic activations:

  • Gastronomy: A “Tailgate Tapas” experience that reimagines the traditional pre-game American tailgate culture through Spanish culinary traditions.
  • Visual Arts: A photography exhibition that reinterprets symbols of American football through the lens of Hispanic culture.
  • Film: A curated selection of documentaries and short films exploring the intersection of sport, community, and identity across the Atlantic.
  • Fashion: The FRSH initiative, featuring a collection and custom apparel options linked to the event’s branding.
