Mitsui Shopping Park Lalaport Fukuoka to host Fukuoka Football Culture Festival 2026

The autumn event calendar at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Fukuoka presents a sharp contrast between indoor community exhibitions and large-scale outdoor athletic competitions, featuring everything from elite running challenges to a public viewing for J1 League football.

Public Screening and On-Field Training at Football Festival

Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Fukuoka announced that the facility will host the Fukuoka Football Culture Festival 2026 on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The outdoor Sports Park on the fourth floor of the mall’s building will feature an open-air public viewing of the Meiji Yasuda J1 League fixture between Avispa Fukuoka and FC Machida Zelvia, scheduled to kick off at 16:00 local time. Pre-match activities starting at 15:15 include a talk show and a performance by the Avispa Fukuoka official cheerleaders’ junior squad, according to the published event schedule.

Participants seeking active involvement can access the fifth-floor MIFA Football Park Fukuoka, which will host a football clinic from 10:00 to 11:00 led by former Japan national team player and Avispa Fukuoka alumnus Yoshiki Yamashita. Additional football programming includes walking football sessions on the fourth-floor tennis court at 11:00 and 13:00, organized with support from the Fukuoka Football Association without requiring advance registration. The grounds will also feature a shot-speed measurement game projected onto a large monitor, a kick target challenge, and a foot-darts attraction.

Music, Film Screenings, and Community Stage Performances

Beyond athletic drills, the October 18 festival incorporates entertainment elements, including live music performances from Kumamoto-based idol unit POTION at 11:00 and musical act #Furasabikuru at 14:00 on the outdoor stage. Following the conclusion of the football fixtures, an outdoor screening of the documentary film ONE CREATURE, which follows the Japan national team, is scheduled to begin at approximately 18:15. All regular festival events are slated to run from 10:00 to roughly 20:15, subject to weather conditions.

Running concurrently with the sports programming, LaLaport Fukuoka will host the fifth annual LaLa Culture Festival 2026 starting Saturday, October 17. The oval park outdoor stage will feature approximately 12 regional school and community groups performing wind music, dance, and cheerleading routines across October 17 and 18.

Bread-Scrambling Races and Kyushu Sprint Debuts in November

Event organizers have scheduled a separate series of participatory sports competitions for the following month at the fourth-floor Sports Park. The “Pan-Kui Kyoso in LaLaport Fukuoka” bread-scrambling race will take place on Sunday, November 1, from 14:00 to 16:30. Organized by the Pan-Kui Kyoso Association—chaired by former Olympian Dai Tamesue—the race requires participants to retrieve a bag of anpan hanging in the middle of a 30-meter course using only their mouths before sprinting to the finish line. Event organizers confirmed that an equal number of sweet rolls to the number of participants will be donated to local children’s cafeterias.

On Sunday, November 8, the venue will host the regional debut of the “SPEED STAR 30m Dash Challenge presented by JIG-SAW” from 11:00 to 17:00. Nobuharu Asahara, a silver medalist in the men’s 4x100m relay at the Beijing Olympics, will participate as a guest to lead a children’s running clinic and talk show. The sprint competition includes individual categories, a team relay event for groups of four, and an athlete showdown alongside an open lane for unreserved time trials.
