Matrix Intelligence releases footage of MATRIX-3 robot in tennis facility

Matrix Intelligence has released live operational footage of its third-generation general humanoid robot, the MATRIX-3, performing tasks inside a commercial tennis facility. The video documents the 1.70-meter, 65-kilogram machine handling member services, court organization, and safety inspections during real-world operations.

MATRIX-3 Tennis Facility Operations

The newly published footage captures the MATRIX-3 robot executing practical support tasks within an active tennis venue. In the recording, the humanoid identifies employee badges to distinguish between management personnel and patrons, adjusting its interaction logic accordingly. The robot also delivers water and towels to players with controlled, steady movements and moves across the facility to collect and centralize scattered tennis balls. These assignments require the system to recognize different objects, modulate grip strength, and execute multi-step objectives rather than running isolated repetitive loops.

WAVE Physical World Foundation Model Architecture

The system operates on a dual-layer “brain-cerebellum” collaborative architecture designed for physical environments. The brain component utilizes the proprietary WAVE physical world foundation model, which allows the robot to learn the consequences of physical actions and follow operational laws without relying on rigid scripts. Meanwhile, the cerebellum component runs a general motion control model that generates fluid whole-body movements. Hardware specifications include 27 degrees of freedom housed within a “Lingxi” hand configuration, enabling the robot to utilize standard human tools for precision tasks.

MATRIX-3 Moves from Sports Facilities to Industrial and Household Services

Current operational testing enables the MATRIX-3 to accept designated task objectives, execute autonomous path planning, and manage perception, decision-making, and execution within defined geographical boundaries. Documentation indicates that as data collection continues and real-world validation expands, the platform is positioned to transition beyond sports facilities into shopping malls, exhibition centers, industrial manufacturing, logistics, medical assistance, and household services. Matrix Intelligence aims to advance its mass-production delivery schedules and ecosystem partnerships to move embodied intelligence toward broader commercial utility.
