Martial arts enthusiasts in Saint-André-les-Alpes and surrounding communities have a new opportunity to sample aikido, karate, judo, and krav maga during a dedicated charity martial arts gala organized to benefit the Téléthon.
Charity Gala Offers Free Access to Four Disciplines
The upcoming martial arts gala in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region brings together four distinct combat sports and self-defense systems for public initiation and discovery. Local clubs and professional instructors are teaming up to offer free hands-on training sessions, allowing participants to test each discipline before deciding which one fits their interests.
Event organizers designed the day to remove barriers between traditional martial arts and the wider public, welcoming complete beginners alongside experienced practitioners. All proceeds collected during the event will directly support the Téléthon charity association “Petites mains pour la guérison,” funding ongoing medical research and support initiatives.
Four Regional Clubs Lead Martial Arts Instruction
Four specialized regional clubs are leading the instruction across the schedule. Sakura Aïkido Saint-André-les-Alpes represents the Japanese art of aikido, focusing on movement fluidity and harmonious redirection of force. Le Cobra Karaté STA presents karate instruction centered on precision and striking power, while Judo Club Castellanais demonstrates the Olympic sport of judo, which emphasizes balance, mechanical advantage, and mutual respect.

Rounding out the quartet, Andizar Krav Maga Israélien introduces attendees to krav maga, a practical and direct self-defense system developed for rapid application in real-world scenarios.
On-Site Catering Supports the Téléthon Fundraiser
Beyond the training sessions on the mats, the gala features a refreshment stand and traditional catering options to keep attendees fueled throughout the day. Visitors can purchase a freshly prepared paella to enjoy on-site or take away, priced at 15 euros per portion.
All funds raised through the catering sales, donations, and associated activities will flow entirely to the “Petites mains pour la guérison” Téléthon campaign.
