Uttar Pradesh tennis player Mann Kesarwani captured the men’s singles title at the 31st Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship in New Delhi, defeating Nitin Sinha 6-0, 6-4 in the final. Seeded sixth in the tournament, Kesarwani dropped no games in the opening set before closing out the straight-sets victory against the third-seeded opponent to secure his first career Fenesta Open national crown.

Uttar Pradesh Tennis Association Prepares Recognition

Following the championship victory, the Uttar Pradesh Tennis Association announced plans for a grand reception and felicitation ceremony in Lucknow to honor Kesarwani. UPTA President Navneet Sehgal and Secretary Puneet Agarwal issued formal statements praising the young athlete for elevating the state’s standing in national tennis.

Mann has raised the stature of our state and the UPTA, Sehgal said, pointing to the results emerging from years of grassroots development initiatives run by the association. Agarwal added that Kesarwani’s performance serves as a major inspiration for junior players across Uttar Pradesh, noting that the governing body is currently reviewing expanded youth development programs.

National Championship Context and Field

The Fenesta Open stands as one of India’s premier domestic hard-court tennis tournaments, drawing top-tier national talent across junior and senior categories. Kesarwani’s run to the title required navigating a competitive main draw that featured established seeded players. By overcoming the third-seeded Sinha with a dominant 6-0 first-set display, the Lucknow-trained player underlined his progression on the national circuit. UPTA officials indicated that the triumph is expected to boost participation and competitive confidence among aspiring tennis players throughout the region.
