The LG Twins defeated the NC Dinos 6-1 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on September 6, snapping an eight-game losing streak during a tight battle for third place in the 2026 KBO League regular season.
LG Twins Break Eight-Game Skid Against NC Dinos
Manager Kyeong-youp Yeom’s LG squad entered the home matchup looking to reverse a costly slide that had threatened their standing in the league table. With the 6-1 victory, the fourth-place LG club improved their record to 76 wins, 1 draw, and 63 losses. Meanwhile, the visiting NC Dinos under manager Ho-jun Lee dropped their third straight contest, absorbing their 76th defeat of the season against 63 wins and 2 draws.
Early Home Runs Shape Jamsil Ballpark Victory
LG seized control early in the bottom of the first inning. Following a drag bunt single by Hae-min Park and a center-field single by Chan-ui Song, Austin Dean drove a 135-meter home run to left-center field. The three-run shot marked Dean’s 41st home run of the season. Shortly after, Bo-gyeong Moon added a solo shot to right-center field, traveling 135 meters for his 10th home run of the year, staking the Twins to an early lead.
The Dinos attempted to answer in the top of the second inning. After Hwi-jip Kim singled to center and advanced on a wild pitch, Woo-sung Lee delivered an RBI single to center field to put NC on the board. However, LG restored their cushion in the home half of the frame when Jeong-bin Moon hit an RBI single to left, capitalising on a defensive miscue by NC shortstop Joo-won Kim following a single and a stolen base by Park.
Pitching Performances Seal the Decisive Result
LG starting pitcher Si-won Park anchored the victory with a steady performance on the mound. Park threw 86 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing five hits, two walks, and four strikeouts while conceding just one run. The outing earned Park his second win of the season against four losses. On the opposing side, NC starter Sung-young Choi struggled during his outing, surrendering five runs on seven hits and two home runs over two innings to take his first loss of the year against one victory.
Chan-ui Song capped the scoring for the Twins in the bottom of the sixth inning with a solo home run to left field, measuring 110 meters for his 16th home run of the season. Despite threatening in the second, third, and sixth innings, the Dinos’ batting order managed only seven hits and failed to generate further offense against the LG bullpen.
LG Twins Seek Momentum as Race for Third Intensifies
The victory provides a timely boost for LG as the regular season reaches its late stages and the race for third-place positioning intensifies. The Twins look to carry the momentum from their snapped skid into their next scheduled KBO League fixture, while the Dinos seek to recover from their three-game slide as both clubs play the remainder of the 2026 campaign.
