Latina Approves Sports Facilities for Via Ezio and Latina Scalo PRINT Projects

LatinaToday reported that joint commissions for sport and urban planning in Latina approved two distinct public-private urban integration programs on a specified morning, greenlighting vital upgrades to local sports facilities. The decisions advance two major Programmi Integrati di Intervento (PRINT) focused on modernizing urban zones while expanding athletic infrastructure for residents.

Via Ezio Baseball Field Redesigned for Higher Series Standards

Under the approved PRINT for Via Ezio, municipal commissioners evaluated three separate renovation proposals for the existing baseball field, selecting a design that allows the venue to seek homologation for the highest possible league series. Despite spatial limitations preventing top-tier national competition, the chosen layout preserves enough room to construct an auxiliary smaller field dedicated to training and youth categories, including children’s leagues.

Via delle Industrie Adds Aquatics Complex and Sports Zone in Latina Scalo

Latinatu reported that the urban intervention program for Via delle Industrie in Latina Scalo underwent modifications following requests from municipal council members in a prior session. Project designers reduced the physical footprints of the planned commercial strip and a residential health facility to carve out space and volume for a new athletic zone. The updated sports complex will feature a semi-Olympic indoor swimming pool measuring 25 meters, an outdoor pool, locker rooms, showers, parking facilities, and a dedicated access road connected to the railway station parking lot. Alessandro Fanti, a municipal councillor and provincial head of Futuro Nazionale, expressed support for the initiative, noting that the project also encompasses padel courts, a multipurpose field, an athletics track, a cycle-pedestrian path, and green spaces.

Administrative Review Process and Next Steps

Both PRINT initiatives will now advance through standard technical and administrative approval workflows involving municipal offices and committees. Proponents hope to transition the proposals into active construction sites, combining public planning with private investment to upgrade infrastructure across Latina and Latina Scalo.
