Lamar Jackson Ruled Out Again, Tyler Huntley to Start for Ravens

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson ruled out for second game with ankle injury

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss his second game due to an ankle injury, leaving backup Tyler Huntley to start Sunday’s AFC North matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Ravens head coach Jesse Minter announced the decision on Friday after Jackson did not participate in any team practices throughout the week.

Jackson suffered the injury during a victory over the Tennessee Titans. The double MVP previously sat out the team’s 30-23 overtime win against the Atlanta Falcons, watching from the sideline as Huntley guided the offense.

Tyler Huntley steps in again as Baltimore’s starter

With Jackson sidelined, Huntley remains at the controls of a Baltimore offense that enters Week 6 atop the AFC North with a 4-1 record. Huntley has won his last three starts, averaging 33.7 points per game over that stretch while throwing four touchdown passes without an interception. In the overtime victory against Atlanta, Huntley completed 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards, threw two touchdowns, and added a decisive rushing score.

Minter dismissed concerns regarding the severity of Jackson’s absence, explaining that keeping the quarterback on the bench was a precautionary measure taken in the player’s best interest. The organization has not yet provided a definitive timeline for Jackson’s return to the field.

AFC North standings and Sunday kickoff details

The Ravens carry a four-win, one-loss record into the game to face a Cleveland Browns squad sitting at 3-2.

While Baltimore prepares for Cleveland without its signal-caller, the rest of the NFL’s Week 6 slate features several high-profile injuries across the league. The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Carolina Panthers without running back Saquon Barkley and quarterback Jalen Hurts, while the undefeated Chiefs face the Los Angeles Chargers without wide receiver Rashee Rice.
