Lamar Jackson Sits Out Sunday as Baltimore Turns to Tyler Huntley Against Cleveland
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns due to a left ankle sprain, head coach Jesse Minter announced on Friday. The injury occurred during a victory over the Tennessee Titans on October 4, forcing the double NFL MVP to miss his second game since the injury.
Jackson did not participate in any team practices throughout the week. While an initial league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter earlier in the week that Jackson held a realistic chance of returning against Cleveland, the quarterback ultimately remained sidelined.
Tyler Huntley Keeps the Offense Moving as Baltimore Protects Division Lead
With Jackson unavailable, backup quarterback Tyler “Snoop” Huntley will step into the starting lineup for the Ravens. Baltimore enters the matchup holding a 4-1 record and a one-game advantage at the top of the AFC North division.
I have Lamar Jackson, Saquon Barkley and Justin Jefferson. I am quitting fantasy football forever.
Huntley has won his last three starts filling in for Jackson. That stretch includes a 30-23 overtime victory against the Atlanta Falcons where Huntley scored the game-winning touchdown on a one-yard run.
Philadelphia Eagles Manage Backfield and Quarterback Absences Without Saquon Barkley
The Philadelphia Eagles will also be without Saquon Barkley for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Barkley sustained a leg injury against the Los Angeles Rams on October 4 and missed last week’s matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Across four appearances this season, injuries have limited Barkley to 182 rushing yards on 36 carries. Philadelphia will face further roster adjustments as quarterback Jalen Hurts also misses the contest.
Additional Roster Moves Shape Week 6 Matchups Across the League
Sport Pulse reported that the Eagles face further backfield depletion with Will Shipley landing on the injured reserve list due to a foot injury, while Tank Bigsby is sidelined with an abdomen injury. Dameon Pierce is expected to shoulder the primary rushing load for Philadelphia, and Tanner McKee will start at quarterback in place of Hurts. Meanwhile, wide receiver DeVonta Smith returns to the lineup without a injury designation after missing the previous two games.

In Kansas City, the undefeated Chiefs will host the Chargers without wide receiver Rashee Rice, who sustained a right hamstring injury against the Raiders. Tyquan Thornton also misses the game after being placed on injured reserve with a left dislocated ankle. Head coach Andy Reid has not ruled out a return for Rice against the Seattle Seahawks in the following week.
Arizona Cardinals rookie Jeremiyah Love will sit out Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium. Head coach Mike LaFleur noted that Love’s left ankle condition had not improved, prompting a scheduled evaluation on Monday without placing the rookie on injured reserve.
