La Pampa Hosts National Badminton and Modern Pentathlon Competitions

La Pampa will host two national sporting competitions featuring roughly 190 athletes from across Argentina, local officials announced. The second National Badminton Tournament is scheduled for Doblas, while Santa Rosa takes on the youth modern pentathlon trials.

National Badminton Tournament Heads to Doblas

Municipal sports facilities and the Independiente de Doblas club will welcome 120 badminton players from La Pampa, Neuquén, and Buenos Aires. Competition spans the U9, U11, and U13 age brackets for both boys and girls. Eduardo Coria, a discipline representative, noted that the tournament highlights the sport’s growth among younger athletes in the province. Last year’s inaugural edition took place in Santa Rosa, but organizers shifted this year’s event to Doblas due to venue availability.

Modern Pentathlon Trials Begin in Santa Rosa

Médanos Verdes hosts the youth modern pentathlon trials in Santa Rosa, bringing together approximately 70 athletes. The multi-discipline format begins with fencing before moving through obstacle courses, swimming, running, and laser-pistol shooting. The entry list features Odesur Games medalists Catalina Serio and Martina Armanazqui, with coordination handled by Médanos Verdes alongside the national modern pentathlon federation.

Provincial Sports Officials Outline Wider Initiatives

During the official presentation at the Casa del Deportes, Undersecretary of Sports Ceferino Almudévar pointed to the expansion of La Pampa Olímpica, a provincial program designed to support individual sports and fund athlete travel to national events. Almudévar also confirmed that Olympic weightlifting delegations will soon travel to Neuquén for upcoming fixtures. Alongside tournament schedules, the provincial government is currently reviewing updates to Sports Law 858 to align the legislation with modern administrative needs.
