KNN Group Launches Football Academy Franchise Teaching English on the Field

The KNN Football Academy launched a new franchise model across Brazil in August 2026, combining youth soccer training with practical English language education and leadership development for children and adolescents aged 6 to 17. The holding company behind the venture is the education giant KNN Group.

Blumenau Flagship Launches Nationwide Project

The first franchise unit opened in August 2026 in Blumenau, marking the rollout of a nationwide sports-education project. Reginaldo Kaeneêne, president and founder of the KNN Group, explained the core philosophy behind the venture. The curriculum integrates English vocabulary and conversational cues directly into drills and matches.

Beyond language and training, the methodology teaches leadership, communication, discipline, and entrepreneurship in practice, aiming to shape global citizens rather than just athletes.

Asset-Light Model Cuts Initial Capital

The franchise model removes the traditional requirement of constructing or purchasing dedicated sports fields. Instead, classes take place on rented soccer fields or spaces provided by local schools.

This operational structure lowers initial capital requirements, with investment costs starting at R$ 50,000. Kaeneêne noted that eliminating construction expenses allows franchisees to allocate capital toward equipment, brand utilization, and student acquisition. Franchise units operate with low monthly fixed costs because facilities are rented only during instructional hours.

Targeting Rapid Break-Even Timelines

Projections from the holding company indicate that new units can cover operating expenses between their second and third month of operation. Achieving a break-even point requires a relatively small client base, depending on local rental rates.

The business model is structured so that investors, local business owners, and sports professionals can operate an academy without needing fluency in English, relying instead on the established instructional methodology of KNN Idiomas. The competitive advantage for entrepreneurs acquiring the franchise lies in this brand DNA: on-field instruction is driven by the exclusive KNN Idiomas methodology, a learning system already tested and validated by thousands of students nationwide, now adapted for sports dynamics.

Riding a R$ 72.7 Billion Sector Surge

The academy’s launch aligns with broader economic data from the Brazilian franchising sector. According to first-quarter figures released by the Associação Brasileira de Franchising (ABF) for 2026, the franchise market reached R$ 72.7 billion in revenue.

The KNN Group oversees more than 14 operating companies spanning education, tourism, real estate, and sports franchising, including KNN Idiomas, Knowa Education, NXK Empreendimentos, and Rancho das Neves.
