For nearly two decades, garages, workshops, and offices across the region have made space for an annual tradition born in Klatovy. The local club dedicated to Škoda vehicles, amateur rallies, and automotive events has released its 21st wall calendar, showcasing twelve rare Škoda models alongside prominent Czech models for 2027. zpravy.aktualne.cz reported that the project, which began in 2007, has evolved into a staple for enthusiasts while expanding its focus to include racing specials, prototypes, and utility curiosities.
Photographic Debut Across the Border in Slovakia
Photographer Radim Kořínek returned behind the lens for the 2027 edition, joined by Helena Čermáková (Miss Czech Republic 2021), Hana Cermanová, and Nicole Priščová. According to europesays.com, the production team traveled outside the Czech Republic for the first time in the calendar’s history, shooting portions of the project on location in Slovakia.
Rare Racing Prototypes and Replicas
Among the standout vehicles featured in the 2027 calendar is a replica of the Škoda 200 RS, a 1974 racing prototype that preceded the famed Škoda 130 RS. Roman Schavel of the Škodateam club within the Autoklub of the Czech Republic (AČR) explained that the original 200 RS was built on the chassis of the 110 R coupe, featuring a lower, wider body, a Series 720 engine, and a five-speed Porsche transmission. Only two two-liter versions and one 180 RS were ever built before FIA rule changes halted their racing careers after just three events.

Experimental Turbos and Lightweight Specials
The lineup also highlights lesser-known engineering efforts, including the Škoda 2000 MI Turbo replica from 1975. Built by Bořivoj Kořínek and mechanic Josef Mrkvička using a 110 R body, Škoda 130 RS components, and a mid-mounted 1,771 cm³ turbocharged engine from the 720 series, the car reportedly produced up to 238 horsepower during early testing, though reliability issues ultimately hindered its competitive run. Another racing nod is the Škoda 1000 MB B5 replica, echoing the lightweight sedan driven by Jaroslav Bobek to hillclimb and circuit titles in the early 1970s.
Unconventional Utility Conversions and Historic Locations
Beyond traditional racers, the calendar documents unusual utility builds, such as a lengthened Škoda Favorit Pickup known as “Jezevčík” (The Dachshund), which features a wheelbase extended by 650 millimeters. Another heavy-duty conversion featured is a Škoda 706 RTO bus modified by Jindřich Wloch into a specialized vehicle designed to transport a sailboat all the way to Dubrovnik, Croatia. Photographers paired these vehicles with striking architectural backdrops, including an unfinished 1939 highway bridge near Ostopovicích, the decaying concrete stands of the former Za Lužánkami stadium in Brno, Janův Hrad in the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape, and the Kolín Sugar Beet Railway. Today, little remains of the former football sanctuary besides a decaying concrete structure. Elsewhere, a Škoda Felicia parked near Janův hrad in the Lednice-Valtice area, while a Škoda 120 GLS appeared near the wind mill in Kunkovice. Meanwhile, a Škoda 445 and Rapid 136 parked at the former Za Lužánkami stadium in Brno, and bridges, embankments, and cuts still remained in the landscape.
Giom 1 and the Piešťany Enthusiasts
Roman Schavel also noted the inclusion of the Giom 1, which was created in 1972 in Piešťany, where a group of enthusiasts gathered around František Němec and Peter Chudý.
