Karl-Anthony Towns Launches New Era Knicks 2026 Championship Cap Collection

The New York Knicks are stepping onto the Madison Square Garden parquet for tonight’s ring ceremony wearing a piece of history, as New Era officially unveiled the 2026 NBA Ring Ceremony collection celebrating the franchise’s first championship in over fifty years.

Locker Room Hats Debut Tonight at Madison Square Garden

The commemorative selection centers on the official Locker Room hat designed specifically for players to wear during the traditional ring and banner presentation preceding tonight’s season tip-off. Hypebeast reported that the lineup features two signature New Era silhouettes: the structured 9FIFTY snapback and the more relaxed, adjustable 9TWENTY.

Both models feature a beige crown paired with a contrasting Knicks blue visor. The front panel displays the team emblem crafted in white and metallic gold patches, framed by the official NBA logo and the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy. Finishing touches include the “NBA 2025-26 Champions” inscription embroidered in blue and metallic gold thread along the side panel, balanced by a blue New Era flag on the opposite side.

Retail Variants and Flagship Store Campaign

Beyond the player-edition Locker Room caps, the collection includes alternative designs rooted in the team’s primary colorway. These retail variants place the main Knicks logo on the front crown alongside the Larry O’Brien Trophy. An exclusive “National Basketball Association 2025-26 Champions” side patch, a New Era flag, and a subtle NBA insignia positioned just above the rear strap complete the look.

To support the retail rollout, New Era teamed up with star guard and brand ambassador Karl-Anthony Towns for a campaign video filmed at the New Era flagship store in New York. The short spot features Towns stepping behind the sales counter to assist fans gearing up for the title celebrations.

Season Tip-Off Context

The championship gear release coincides with the opening night festivities in New York, marking the culmination of a historic 2025-26 campaign that ended a championship drought dating back to the early 1970s. The team will raise the championship banner to the rafters before taking the floor in their new commemorative headwear.
