Juan José Carvajal Martínez claims gross title at Club Naco tournament

Juan José Carvajal Martínez shot a gross score of 77 on a challenging course layout to claim the overall gross title at the Liga de Golf del Club Naco’s second official tournament stop, held at the Punta Blanca Golf Club with a field of 94 golfers participating in an atmosphere of family integration and competitive play.

Punta Blanca Course Yields Champion

The 94 competitors navigated the rigorous Punta Blanca layout during an event that highlighted both individual skill and club camaraderie, according to club organizers. Juan José Carvajal Martínez emerged from the large field by carding the lowest gross score of the day, securing the tournament’s top honor with his 77-stroke performance.

League Leadership Praises Community Strength

Liga de Golf del Club Naco president Ing. José Parra addressed the participants following the competition, pointing to the event as evidence of rising technical standards among the club’s athletes. “This second stop reflects not only the notable technical and competitive growth of our players, but also the strength of the Naqueño family,” Parra stated. He added that the gatherings continue to consolidate friendships and respect for the rules under the banner of “Somos Naco Golf.”

Division Winners and Flight Results

Competition across the flights featured tight leaderboards and a card playoff in the C category. In Category A, Juan Queliz took first place, followed by César Roque Jr. in second and Héctor Méndez in third. Kelvin Dominici Rosario claimed the top spot in Category B, with Julio Fernando Rodríguez Gerez finishing second and Jhonny Mendoza taking third. Richard Martínez won Category C, edging out Isaías Risk in second, while Luis Mesa secured third place on a card playoff after tying with Luis Ballester. In the ladies’ flight, Guillermina Rondón placed first, Rosanna Taveras finished second, and Sharikla Kupferschmid took third.

Special On-Course Honors

Individual precision across designated holes brought additional recognition to four competitors during the round. Víctor Taveras claimed the closest-to-the-pin honor on the sixth hole, while Carlos E. De León repeated the feat on the eleventh hole. Julio Paulino recorded the longest drive on the seventeenth hole, and Miguel Bautista hit the most accurate drive on the fourth hole.

Corporate Sponsors and Club Support

League directors acknowledged the backing of the club’s board of directors alongside corporate sponsors Omega Tech, Capitalia Puesto de Bolsa, and Rubiera Aires Acondicionados. Organizers noted that the partnership of these brands helped elevate the competitors’ experience through player amenities and gifts, reinforcing the private sector’s connection to community sports development.
