The position opened in April following the resignation of Mick Byrne. Since Byrne’s departure, Senirusi Seruvakula has managed the squad on an interim basis. The governing body confirmed that the recruitment process entered its final stages with a second round of interviews conducted in Suva. Aside from White, former Wales coach Warren Gatland was also evaluated among the potential candidates during the exhaustive selection window.

White brings an extensive resume to the Pacific Island nation, having led the Springboks to victory at the 2007 Rugby World Cup and previously managed French Top 14 club Montpellier, alongside his most recent stint coaching the Pretoria-based Bulls franchise.
Autumn Test Schedule Tests New Leadership
Fiji opens the second block of the Autumn Nations Series against France on November 7 at Lyon, followed by matches against Ireland and Italy in November. Officials indicated that an official announcement regarding the appointment is expected early next week.
