Timnas Indonesia secured a commanding 9-2 victory over Bangladesh at Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno, advancing to the final of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, CNN Indonesia reported.
First-Half Scoring Surge Establishes Dominance
The host nation took control of the fixture early, establishing a 6-1 advantage by halftime. Mitchell Baker led the attack with a four-goal performance, commonly known as a quattrick. Rizky Ridho and Justin Hubner added the other two goals for Indonesia during the opening 45 minutes.

Bangladesh deployed a starting lineup featuring Mehedi Srabon in goal, alongside Saad Uddin, Tariq Kazi, Zidane Yousuf, Zayyan Ahmed, Shome Shamit, Hamza Choudhury, Jamal Bhuyan, Shahriar Emon, Rakib Hosain, and Shuki Itofusa. Meanwhile, Indonesia countered with Emil Audero starting between the posts behind a defensive and midfield unit containing Rizky Ridho, Elkan Baggott, Justin Hubner, Kevin Diks, Joey Pelupessy, Ivar Jenner, and Calvin Verdonk, while Ole Romeny, Mitchell Baker, and Ragnar Oratmangoen operated in attack.
Bangladesh Goalkeeper Stops Indonesia Attacks After Interval
After the interval, Indonesia continued to press forward. Ole Romeny went down inside the penalty box in the 49th minute, but officials determined no foul occurred following a video review by the VOR.
Manager John Herdman introduced personnel changes to spark the offense, substituting Luke Vickery for Rizky Ridho in the 60th minute, followed later by the introduction of Egy Maulana and Dean James. Bangladesh goalkeeper Mehedi Srabon improved his performance after the break, stopping attempts from Romeny, James, and a header from Elkan Baggott. An 84th-minute effort by Romeny was chalked off when the assistant referee raised the offside flag.
Late Goals Seal the Semifinal Rout
As the match neared its conclusion, Luke Vickery broke through in the 90th minute by finishing an assist from Romeny. Bangladesh responded immediately through a counterattack, with Farhaan Ali Wahid finding the back of the net a minute later.

During stoppage time, tension on the pitch led to an incident between Romeny and a visiting defender, resulting in substitute players entering the field. From the ensuing dead-ball situation, Kevin Diks scored with a header. Within seconds, Mitchell Baker added another goal courtesy of another assist from Romeny, capping the 9-2 scoreline and confirming Indonesia’s place in the tournament final.
