Hartmut Voigt received the Golden Medal of Honor from the Brandenburg Judo Association during a surprise ceremony in late September marking the 35th anniversary of the SV Blau-Weiß Perleberg judo department. The longtime coach, who has led the Rolandstadt club’s youth and competitive training programs since 1991, was initially told to expect only a routine training session.
Anniversary Celebration Turns Into Tribute for Perleberg Coach
SV Blau-Weiß Perleberg originally planned a modest gathering to mark both 35 years of judo and 33 years of aikido in the town. Instead of a standard workout, club leadership arranged a surprise presentation once the training concluded. Reinhard Arndt, an honorary member of the Brandenburg Judo Association, traveled to present Voigt with the Golden Medal of Honor. Martin Neumann, a board member of the SV Blau-Weiß Perleberg e.V., joined current students and former trainees to congratulate the coach on decades of mentorship.
Decades of Developing Generations of Competitors
Since taking on leadership roles within the club in 1991, Voigt has shaped the athletic path of multiple generations of local fighters. Club officials highlighted that the department’s current size stems directly from his ongoing focus on youth development and tournament preparation. Beyond coaching on the tatami, Voigt holds official examiner and referee licenses, allowing him to accompany his athletes to competitions.

SV Blau-Weiß Perleberg Continues Regular Weekly Training
