Haidong to Hold Support Qinghai Cup Football Tournament

Four regional soccer squads from across China are set to converge on the Haidong Sports Center Football Field for the upcoming “Support Qinghai Cup” Football Invitational. Scheduled for October 17–18, 2026, the tournament is designed to highlight regional cooperation and celebrate development initiatives in Qinghai Province.

The event is guided by the Organization Department of the Qinghai Provincial Committee and organized by the Haidong Municipal Committee, the Haidong Municipal People’s Government, and various regional assistance headquarters. Local preparations are managed by the Haidong Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Broadcasting alongside the Qinghai Football Association, according to official announcements.

Tournament Schedule and Participating Teams

Competition kicks off on Saturday, October 17, following a morning cultural performance from 09:00 to 09:30 and an opening ceremony from 09:30 to 10:00 local time. The host side, the Qinghai Haidong Tianyoude Football Team—reigning runners-up in the Qinghai Super League—takes the pitch at 10:00 for the opening knockout match against a to-be-determined opponent. A second knockout fixture follows at 15:00.

Sunday’s slate features a 09:00 preliminary exhibition match pairing Chinese football star players with the Qinghai Lake Little Waves Youth Girls’ Football Team in a mixed-roster format. The tournament final is scheduled for 09:30 to 11:30, immediately preceding the closing ceremony and trophy presentation from 11:30 to 12:30.

Four squads representing different provincial leagues comprise the tournament field:

  • Jiangsu Xuzhou Team (Jiangsu Super League Top 8)
  • Shandong Liaocheng Team (Shandong Super League Top 4)
  • Zhejiang Taizhou Team (Yue-Yue Cup Top 4)
  • Qinghai Haidong Tianyoude Team (Qinghai Super League Runner-up)

Ticketing and Cultural Exhibits

Admission to the matches at the Haidong Sports Center, located along Haidong Avenue in Ledu District, is free of charge. Spectators can collect complimentary tickets directly at the venue entrances.

In addition to the matches, the venue will host concurrent exhibitions promoting regional goods, hand-pulled noodle craftsmanship demonstrations, and traditional Tibetan-Chinese medical experiences. During halftime intervals throughout the knockout rounds and the final, organizers have scheduled ethnic minority dance performances, Qinghai “Hua’an” folk singing, and cheerleading routines.

On-site medical stations equipped with ambulances and dedicated medical personnel will operate throughout the tournament to assist attendees requiring urgent care.

交通管制与高原观赛提示

Event organizers issued specific guidance regarding transportation and regional climate conditions for visiting fans. Parking availability around the Haidong Sports Center is severely limited, and local authorities will enforce traffic controls and diversions on roads leading to the venue during match days. Public transportation, including local bus services, is strongly recommended.

Spectators attending the matches in Qinghai’s high-altitude environment should prepare for potential rain or snow, with organizers advising visitors to bring appropriate cold-weather and rain gear.
