Giuliano Scancella wins FIDASC Italian championship Storico Libero division

Giuliano Scancella of the Asd Fidasc Arcieri delle Tre Vette won the Italian championship in the Storico Libero division at the 12th Fidasc Individual Archery Italian Championship, held at the Bosco Bandiziol in Santo Stino di Livenza near Venice.

Return to Competition After Rotator Cuff Surgery

The victory marked a notable return to the sport for Scancella following an eight-month competitive hiatus. The archer spent months recovering from rotator cuff surgery before stepping back onto the tournament field.

“Finally, after an eight-month stop due to rotator cuff surgery, I managed to start shooting archery again,” Scancella said. “It was a demanding journey made of constant work, tenacity, and a lot of passion for this discipline. These very motivations give me the strength to keep going and never give up.”

Podium Finishes in the Storico Libero and Regional Success

Behind Scancella on the Storico Libero podium, Eliseo Tuzi of Sagittas Felix Terrae captured the silver medal, while Emiliano Bertuletti of Arcieri Valsugana secured the bronze.

The wider delegation of archers from Ascoli and the surrounding Piceno area also posted strong results at the national tournament. Giuseppe Capponi of Askalaie earned a bronze medal in the Longbow division, and Gabriele Pizzingrilli of Arcieri delle Tre Vette took silver in Modern Recurve.

Additional competitors representing the region included Gualtiero Nardinocchi in Compound Libero, Daniel Pizzingrilli in Assisted Recurve, and Gabriele Junior Pizzingrilli in Assisted Compound. Though those competitors missed the podium, their performances rounded out a substantial competitive showing for Piceno archers at the national event.
