Girona vs. Joventut ACB Derby Rescheduled Again to October 25

The Round 5 Lliga Endesa derby between FIATC Girona and Asisa Joventut has shifted its schedule once again, moving to Sunday, October 25, at 12:00 p.m. local time (11:00 UTC) at Fontajau, as reported by local media. The matchup will be broadcast live via TV3/3Cat, DAZN, and Movistar.

Schedule Adjustments for Fontajau and LaLiga Broadcasts

Initially, the Catalan derby was scheduled for Saturday, October 24, at 7:30 p.m. local time. However, the ACB league office pushed the tip-off back to 9:00 p.m. to avoid a direct television and stadium concurrency clash with the Segunda División football fixture between Girona and Celta Fortuna, which LaLiga had set for 6:30 p.m. that same evening.

The latest adjustment swaps the Girona-Joventut time slot with the FC Barcelona and Basket Zaragoza encounter. As a result, the Girona-Joventut clash claims the Sunday midday spot, while the blaugrana fixture against Zaragoza moves to Saturday at 9:00 p.m.

Double Header Basketball Sunday During Girona Fires

The final Sunday scheduling places the men’s derby directly into the opening weekend of Girona’s local Fires celebrations. The timing creates a back-to-back basketball schedule at Fontajau. Later that same afternoon, Spar Girona is scheduled to host Euskotren in a Liga Femenina contest, giving local fans a full afternoon of top-tier professional basketball.

Television viewers will retain multiple viewing options for the derby regardless of the venue changes, with regional broadcaster TV3 alongside subscription platforms DAZN and Movistar retaining their live coverage rights for the Lliga Endesa fixture.
