Sevilla midfielder Giorgi Kochorashvili has endorsed international teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for the Ballon d’Or, describing him as the best player in the world ahead of the annual gala scheduled for Monday, Oct. 26, in Paris. Speaking to the media during an open-media session organized by Sevilla ahead of their fixture against Levante, the Georgian midfielder addressed both his club commitments and international topics.
Sevilla Midfielder Praises International Teammate
Kochorashvili spent the international break with the Georgia national team, where he reunited with Kvaratskhelia. Speaking about his compatriot, Kochorashvili left no doubt regarding his stance on world football’s most prestigious individual honor. “For me it is very easy,” Kochorashvili said, according to Spanish media reports. “Kvara is right now the best in the world and I am going to continue defending him no matter what. It’s been a while since we had a player of such importance. I am going to support him in everything and my opinion is clear.”
Kochorashvili Warns Against Spain's Unbeaten Streak
Beyond his teammate’s Ballon d’Or candidacy, Kochorashvili was also questioned regarding the formidable form of the Spain national team, which currently holds a 43-match unbeaten streak. The Sevilla midfielder highlighted the immense challenge La Roja presents to any opponent on the international stage. “It is very difficult to play against Spain, they have players who unbalance you like Lamine,” Kochorashvili noted. “It is a team that no other team in the world wants to face.”

Preparation for Levante Fixture
The remarks came as Kochorashvili returned to club duties with Sevilla to prepare for their upcoming league match against Levante. The midfielder noted that while he enjoys spending time with international teammates he grew up alongside, his immediate focus remains on Sevilla’s domestic campaign and the upcoming fixture calendar.
