Football Manager 27 will be playable for free across PC and Mac ahead of its official release, giving players early access to all game modes without requiring a purchase or reservation.
Free Preview Runs from Oct. 29 to Nov. 3
Sports Interactive scheduled the free preview period to run from Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. to Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. local venue time. Players can download the software directly through Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and PC Game Pass. Digital storefront users can install the files without entering any additional login credentials, whereas Game Pass users need an active, eligible subscription.
IGN Portugal reported that the free trial corresponds to the studio’s Launch Preview version, which replaces previous test builds like traditional betas or advanced access. The studio stated that this software build sits much closer in quality and final purpose to the retail product than past testing phases.
Trial Progress Transfers to Full Retail Version
Unlike a restricted traditional demo, this early access build includes every game mode, allowing managers to start a full career and test new additions without feature lockouts. IGN Portugal noted that any progress made during the free trial transfers directly to the full retail version once it launches.
Players who decide to purchase the title can continue their existing saves without restarting. The software introduces several notable mechanical updates, including a redesigned user interface that is easier to use. Tactical additions feature Tactical Tweaks, Tactical Effectiveness, and Continue Flow, a setting dedicated to customizing progression speed. Sports Interactive also integrated match engine visual upgrades alongside the return of familiar legacy features.

Pre-Orders Offer Discount Before Nov. 10 Release
Digital pre-orders open on Oct. 29 through SEGA-authorized storefronts, offering a 10% discount off the standard €59.99 retail price. Buyers who take advantage of the pre-order window maintain uninterrupted access to the Launch Preview from Nov. 3 until the game’s official release on Nov. 10.
Despite the wide availability of modes, the early access release may contain incomplete data. Certain club assets, badges, and player rosters remain subject to final licensing approvals from respective rights holders during the preview window.
