Football & Cheerleading Coaches Convention 2026 Set for December

Football and cheerleading coaches will gather at the DEKRA Kongresszentrum in Wart/Altensteig on December 5 and 6, 2026, for the Coaches Convention, bringing together specialists for two days of professional development, lectures, and networking.

The event maintains its traditional slot on the first full weekend of December, offering sessions designed for coaches at various levels of competition. AFCVBW records confirm that the educational lineup features a roster of confirmed speakers, including Johannes Brenner, Cheyenne Brajan, Siegfried Gehrke, Mats Schweiger, Michael Lang, Max Unflath, Christian Rothe, Anne Rauser, and Christian Müller.

Organizers structured the weekend to cover essential gridiron disciplines, ranging from offensive and defensive techniques, pass schemes, and special teams to game preparation and staff management. Additional modules address team culture, teambuilding, and the working dynamic between coaches and officials, backed by a dedicated rule study session for referees.

New Cheerleading Track Encourages Cross-Disciplinary Learning

A notable addition for the 2026 edition is the establishment of a dedicated hall specifically for cheerleading education. According to the event program, this new track covers music analysis, mental blocks, personal development, and organizational operations.

Event organizers noted that all lectures remain open to attendees regardless of their primary sport or specialization, encouraging coaches to look outside their specific disciplines. To accommodate high demand and collaborative work, a breakout room has been added to supplement the standard session spaces.

Medical Monitoring, Nutrition, and Registration Deadlines

Beyond tactical execution, the curriculum addresses sports medicine and performance science, incorporating sessions on physiological monitoring, concussion protocols, and nutritional supplementation in sports.

Participants have until November 11, 2026, to complete their registration. Attendees must submit any dietary restrictions or food intolerances via email to [email protected] by the booking deadline. Separate ticketing is required for the Saturday evening buffet dinner at the congress center, while overnight lodging allocations remain available through the hosting organization.
