Fluminense Signs 16-Year-Old Midfielder Crystian Gabriel to First Pro Contract

Crystian Gabriel Signs First Professional Contract With Fluminense Through 2029

Fluminense midfielder Crystian Gabriel signed his first professional contract with the club on Monday at the Vale das Laranjeiras training center in Xerém, committing his future to the Tricolor through September 2029, the club announced. The 16-year-old playmaker reaches his first professional milestone after playing a decisive role in the Brazil under-16 national team’s undefeated title run at the Torneio Internacional de Montaigu.

Journey From Futsal to Xerém

Born in Brasília and raised in Paracatu in the interior of Minas Gerais, Crystian arrived at Fluminense in 2021 at the age of 11, initially developing his skills through the club’s futsal ranks before transitioning to the field. He established himself as a central figure in the youth academy setup, finishing as the top scorer for the under-15 squad that won the Copa Rio title in 2025. During that same campaign, the left-footed midfielder also captured the Taça Guanabara and lifted the Morozov Cup in Russia, while later contributing to the under-16 squad that claimed the Torneio Guilherme Embry.

Early Aspirations at Maracanã

Reflecting on the milestone after putting pen to paper in Xerém, Crystian expressed his gratitude to the institution that nurtured his early development. “It’s a dream realized. I’m so happy I can’t even explain it. My family came from far away to grace this moment, so I just want to thank God and Fluminense, who welcomed me when I was little,” Crystian told club media. “Everything I dream of is to debut at the Maracanã, see my name on the big screen, and hear the crowd shouting. I hope to continue writing my history here with titles and good matches.” Having already appeared and scored for Fluminense’s under-17 side in 2026, the young prospect remains embedded in the club’s youth competitive schedule as he eyes a future breakthrough into the senior squad.
