FFBad partners with Banques Alimentaires for 2026 food collection drive

The Fédération Française de Badminton (FFBaD) has announced a partnership with the Banques Alimentaires to support the upcoming national food collection drive scheduled for November 6, 7, and 8, 2026, mobilizing badminton clubs across France to collect donations for people facing food insecurity. To help clubs organize their efforts, the Banques Alimentaires have provided a specific document detailing regional contacts titled Référents collectes 2026, alongside online information resources.

National Food Bank Drive Scheduled for November 2026

The annual food drive organized by the Banques Alimentaires will take place over three days from November 6 through November 8, 2026. FFBaD confirmed the partnership as part of an effort to encourage local badminton clubs to participate in the nationwide solidarity event. Founded on principles of sharing, volunteering, and the reduction of food waste, the Banques Alimentaires operate as France’s primary food aid network, spanning 79 local food banks and 31 regional branches across mainland France and overseas territories.

Inflation and Rising Demand Shape the 2026 Campaign

The upcoming November drive follows a 2025 campaign that gathered approximately 9,750 tonnes of food products through the efforts of more than 128,000 volunteers across over 7,465 collection points, according to data from banquealimentaire.org. Organizers note that the 2026 drive addresses heightened economic pressure on the network, describing the upcoming campaign as particularly crucial and a true challenge against food insecurity. Significant inflation, alongside rising energy costs and increased food prices, has impacted operations as the network works to support nearly 2.4 million people experiencing food insecurity through more than 6,044 partner associations, local social action centers (CCAS), and social grocery stores.

How Local Clubs and Donors Can Participate

The three-day initiative represents the network’s sole annual public appeal for food donations, accounting for roughly 9% of its total annual provisioning needs and generating the equivalent of 19 million meals. Donations collected at approximately 8,000 points of sale and community locations are redistributed locally within the department where they are gathered. For participants unable to visit physical collection sites, the online platform monpaniersolidaire.org offers a virtual basket system enabling financial donations dedicated to local food and hygiene purchases, which qualify for a 75% income tax deduction in France. FFBaD has provided club organizers with administrative resources and regional contact lists through its official channels to facilitate local engagement alongside other national partners, including service clubs like Lions Club, Rotary, and Kiwanis, as well as the volunteer platform Jeveuxaider.gouv.fr, which assists in mobilizing the 116,000 volunteers needed for the event.
