FC Barcelona Unveils Tyler, The Creator “GOLF” Kit for El Clásico

FC Barcelona will wear a special-edition jersey featuring the GOLF WANG logo of American artist Tyler, The Creator for the upcoming fixture against Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou, MARCA reported. The collaboration marks the ninth time the club has replaced its primary shirt sponsor with a music artist for a high-profile league match.

The jersey replaces the traditional Spotify branding with the colorful wordmark ‘GOLF’ in reference to the fashion brand founded by Tyler Gregory Okonma in 2011, as detailed by SPORT. The retail price for the standard player version starts at 499.99 euros, according to OkDiario, generating considerable discussion among supporters regarding the cost of the limited-edition merchandise.

Match Timeline and Retail Release Details

The club scheduled the official public rollout for Thursday, October 15, giving supporters a ten-day lead-up to the fixture, as reported by SPORT. Crónica Global noted that the match itself is set for Sunday, October 25, at the Spotify Camp Nou. Prior to the men’s fixture, the FC Barcelona Femení squad will debut the kit on Saturday, October 24, during a Liga F encounter, according to OkDiario.

Beyond the standard player shirts priced at 499.99 euros—with an additional 20 euros required for a player name and number—the club prepared several ultra-exclusive tiers. OkDiario reported that 11 units signed directly by Tyler, The Creator will retail for 2,999.99 euros. Crónica Global added that identical pricing applies to a limited run of 1,899 match-quality shirts and a 22-unit run featuring the signatures of starting players from both the men’s and women’s squads. As is customary, exclusive editions of the match jersey will be available for purchase at Barça Stores, the club’s e-commerce platform, Nike.com, selected Nike sales points, and SNKRS.

Creative Direction and Previous Artist Collaborations

Unlike previous iterations under the Spotify partnership, Tyler, The Creator took a direct role in shaping the graphic and audiovisual campaign surrounding the release, Crónica Global reported. The artist brings a catalogue boasting 37.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify and three Grammy Awards, with tracks such as “See You Again” and “Like Him” leading his streaming numbers, according to SPORT.

The American rapper joins an exclusive list of musicians who have featured on the club’s kit for El Clásico. SPORT documented that the initiative began with Drake in 2022, followed by Rosalía, The Rolling Stones, Karol G, Coldplay, Travis Scott, Ed Sheeran, and most recently Olivia Rodrigo, whose collaboration drove substantial demand among supporters.

Accompanying Collection and Digital Integration

The clothing line extends far beyond the matchday shirt. Crónica Global reported that the collaborative drop with Nike includes a brown bomber jacket, retro-style tracksuits, leopard-print items, cotton hoodies, beanies, water bottles, and scarves. Other items such as a sky blue second kit, tracksuits, t-shirts, and sweatshirts range from 69.99 to 499.99 euros, while socks, scarves, and hats are priced at 49.99 euros. The collection will also enter the virtual space on October 23, when the jersey becomes available in Konami’s eFootball video game.

To celebrate the launch, Spotify organized the Copa De Golf event in Barcelona on October 24, uniting music, fashion, and football with DJ sets from Yung Taco alongside local artists Bexnil, Alu Nuenga, Duna, and Mushkaa, as detailed by Crónica Global.
