Eur Lake Hosts “Famiglie in Festa” Free Sports Weekend

Rome’s central park at Lake EUR will host “Famiglie in Festa,” a public event offering free access to twenty sports areas, fitness sessions, and community inclusion programs on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time.

Free Access to Twenty Sports Disciplines at Lake EUR

Organized by the amateur sports association Asd Cast Sub Roma with support from EUR SpA and patronage from Rome’s Municipio IX alongside the regional CONI Lazio, the weekend features twenty distinct zones dedicated to physical activity. Families visiting the green space can try out climbing, soccer, volleyball, tennis, hockey, bocce, basketball, badminton, chess, golf, psychomotricity courses, table tennis, foosball, martial arts, boxing, archery, traditional games, and Esports.

The schedule also incorporates fitness and wellness classes tailored for various age brackets. Offerings include balance training, Fit Boxe, and specialized motor activities designed specifically for adults over 65. Organizers stated that the core aim of the manifestation is to use sport as a tool to dismantle physical and social barriers, encourage public dialogue, and strengthen community ties within the Italian capital.

Doctorbike Teaches Children Sustainable Mobility and Safety

Alongside traditional athletics, a dedicated zone will feature the “Doctorbike to School” project promoted by APS Doctorbike for People. The workshop turns the bicycle into an instrument for education, independence, and active citizenship. Through practical riding courses and games, children learn to ride bicycles safely while discovering the value of sustainable mobility and environmental respect, complemented by a dedicated cycle-mechanics workshop.

Health prevention and psychophysical wellness form another pillar of the weekend program. An informational desk will promote healthy and sustainable lifestyles, supported by practical demonstrations of first aid techniques and the operation of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Environmental sustainability and inclusivity measure directly in the event’s execution through accessible pathways, dedicated support systems, and the use of reusable, eco-compatible materials.
