DRK Capannori Youth Baseball Secures Third Place in Tuscany Cup

DRK Capannori Youth Baseball Wraps Up Season on Regional Podium in Tuscany

The DRK Capannori Under-12 baseball team secured third place in the regional Coppa Toscana after defeating Fiorentina 8-5 and overcoming Chiantella 4-2, La Nazione reported. Meanwhile, the Under-15 squad finished fourth in their regional bracket following a hard-fought 14-7 loss to Lancers Lastra a Signa.

Young Pitchers Fuel Under-12 Regional Success

Capannori’s Under-12 campaign relied heavily on the development of its pitching staff across the final stretch of the tournament. Leonardo Pacifici, Kevin Prosper, and Federico Ferrari handled pitching duties against Fiorentina, holding off opposing hitters to secure an 8-5 win that pushed the team into the third- and fourth-place final. Coaches Carlo Mori and Yhonson Dixon guided the young roster through the bracket.

In the third-place playoff against Chiantella, pitchers Elia Sposito and Nikolas Bosi took the mound for a tense, low-scoring matchup. Trailing late, Capannori overturned the deficit with a late-inning rally to win 4-2, capturing the bronze medal for the region.

Under-15 Squad Battles Through Final-Day Defeat

Manager Antonio Modestino led the Under-15 team into the Coppa Toscana third-place match against Lancers Lastra a Signa. Capannori stayed competitive into the later frames before their opponents pulled away in decisive moments to seal a 14-7 final score. Despite the loss, the team’s performance showcased resilience and group cohesion throughout the tournament.

Club Leadership Evaluates Positive Season

DRK Baseball president Giancarlo Mannini expressed satisfaction with the organization’s overall youth development following the tournament finals. “We continue our work with confidence, commitment, and humility,” Mannini said, describing the club’s end-of-year standing as broadly positive. Placing the Under-12 team—which features many new young players—on the regional podium and pushing the Under-15 squad to compete for medals until the final day validated the club’s coaching approach.

Indoor Training Prepares Players for Next Season

Following the conclusion of the Coppa Toscana matches, the DRK Capannori youth teams transition to indoor winter training facilities. The players turn their focus and preparation toward the upcoming competitive baseball calendar.
