The Da Nang senior badminton delegation secured eight medals, including two golds, three silvers, and three bronzes, at the National Senior Badminton Championship in Quang Ninh province, according to tournament records. The finish places the city fourth overall in the national medal standings, marking a notable jump from its seventh-place finish in 2025.
Over 230 Athletes Compete Across Nine Age Categories
The competition brought together more than 230 athletes from 14 provincial, municipal, and sectoral delegations across nine age categories.
The Da Nang squad traveled to the event with nearly 20 active competitors, entering multiple doubles and mixed doubles draws across the age brackets.
Gold Medal Performances in Doubles
In the women's doubles 41–45 age category, Luu Dong Thao and Nguyen Thi Thuy won their matches to claim the gold medal.
Vien Quang Vu and Nguyen Viet Thang matched that success in the men’s doubles 51–55 division, securing Da Nang’s second gold medal by maintaining consistent pressure and control through their matches.

Silver and Bronze Podiums Across Divisions
Nguyen The Hieu and Tran Van Tam finished second in the men’s doubles 61–65 category. In the women’s doubles 61–65 division, Nguyen Thi Bich Son and Dinh Thi Thin earned silver, while Nguyen Huy Hung and Nguyen Thi Thanh Tinh took second place in the mixed doubles 51–55 bracket.
The three bronze medals were awarded to Nguyen Dat Cau and Bui Re in men’s doubles 66–70, Tran Khanh Huy and Le Quang Loc in men’s doubles 56–60, and Phan Thi Thanh and Le Thi Thong in the women’s 56–60 division.
Progress in the National Standings
Following the competition, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Senior Citizens recognized the Da Nang delegation with an honorary flag for its contributions and performance.
Data from the Da Nang City Sports Center shows that this year’s haul of eight medals represents the city’s strongest performance at the National Senior Badminton Championship since 2019. In the 2025 tournament, the team collected one gold, two silvers, and five bronzes to finish seventh in the overall medal table.
