Drivers and football supporters heading to the Nations League fixture between Croatia and Spain at Poljud Stadium face mandatory security checks, designated parking restrictions, and temporary road closures across Split, Solin, and Kaštela, according to a security announcement issued by the Split-Dalmatia Police Department. On the day of the public gathering, authorities expect a large number of fans, members of various Croatian supporter groups, and foreign fans in the City of Split and across the entire Split-Dalmatia County.
Traffic Restrictions and Road Closures Around Poljud Stadium
Traffic regulations begin at 14:00 local time on matchday as security personnel and police establish restricted movement and parking zones around Poljud Stadium. Vehicles face total bans on stopping and parking along Zrinsko-Frankopanska Street from the intersection with Hrvatske Mornarice Street to the entrance of Lora, Put Supavla from the Put Brodarice intersection, and the VIII. Mediteranskih Igara street near the Poljud swimming pool parking entrance, the Mandrach bar, and the Sedam Kaštela intersection. Emergency services, military vehicles, residents, public transit, and authorized permit holders retain access to these zones, while traffic wardens and police units will tow any improperly parked vehicles blocking lanes or medians. Traffic wardens and police will specifically sanction improperly parked vehicles in Zrinsko-frankopanska, Hrvatske mornarice, VII Kaštela, and Put Supavla.

Security Measures and Prohibited Items Under Sports Law
Police will record the stadium and its approach routes before, during, and after the match under Article 79 of the Police Affairs and Powers Act. Officers urge citizens to report any unlawful behavior immediately by calling 192. Under the Act on the Prevention of Riots at Sports Competitions, authorities ban alcohol, drugs, pyrotechnics, weapons, facial disguises, and banners or chants promoting racial, national, regional, or religious hatred. Spectators must present a valid ticket alongside a government-issued photo identification document—such as an identity card, passport, or driver’s license—for identity verification at the gates.
Gates Open at 18:30 with Strict Seating Rules
Stadium gates open to ticket holders at 18:30 local time ahead of the 20:45 kickoff, with police advising fans to arrive early to clear security screenings and ticket checks. Spectators must remain seated exclusively in the specific locations designated on their tickets throughout the event. Police retain the authority under Articles 51 and 52 of the Police Affairs and Powers Act to temporarily restrict movement and pedestrian retention along Put Supavla, VIII. Mediteranskih Igara, and Put Lore for a duration spanning four hours before kickoff until two hours after the final whistle.
