Coppa Città di Asti Judo Tournament Brings Athletes to Asti

The fourth annual Coppa Città di Asti judo tournament will bring international competition and hundreds of athletes to the PalaBrumar in Asti on Sunday, October 11, featuring delegations from eight countries, according to reports.

Organized by ASD Asti Judo with the patronage of the City of Asti and authorization from FIJLKAM Piemonte, the 2026 edition marks a significant expansion in the event’s global reach. Alongside competitors from across Italy, organizers confirmed that delegations from Poland, Portugal, the Netherlands, Malta, France, Switzerland, and Russia are scheduled to participate.

Geographic Scope and National Turnout

Domestic participation spans a broad geographical area across Italy. Competitors from central and northern regions, neighboring territories, Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, and Trentino are slated to appear on the Asti tatami. In addition, three separate delegations will travel from Sardinia to compete, reflecting the tournament’s growing draw among Italian clubs.

To accommodate the large turnout, matches will take place across six separate competition areas. The tournament structure encompasses multiple age divisions, ranging from youth categories to senior elite athletes. Adding to the competitive depth, young judoka from the prestigious Fiamme Oro sports groups of Turin and Rome are expected to enter the draws, elevating the technical standard across weight classes.

Community Impact and Schedule Details

ASD Asti Judo organizers highlight that the event serves a dual purpose as both a high-level athletic showcase and a tourism driver. The tournament brings hundreds of competitors, coaches, staff members, and family groups into the city for the weekend, turning Asti into a central hub for national and international judo.
