Club Baloncesto Portuense Presents 21 Teams for the Season

El Puerto de Santa María municipal officials joined Club Baloncesto Portuense at the Pabellón Angelita Alta to present 21 competitive teams for the 2026/27 season, spanning categories from baby basket to senior across both men’s and women’s divisions.

The presentation formed part of a twelve-hour basketball celebration running from ten in the morning to ten at night. Alongside the 21 competitive squads, the non-competitive “pelusas” category was also introduced during the event at the Pabellón Angelita Alta.

Municipal Officials Present Club with 295 Players

Ale Galán, the Sports Councilor for the Ayuntamiento de El Puerto de Santa María, and José Ignacio González, the Youth Councilor, attended the official presentation. Both officials noted that the club, presided over by José Ángel Márquez, encompasses 295 players within its ranks. Founded in 1989, the organization maintains all categories covered for both sexes.

The club’s structure also features a veteran women’s category that recently won the V Trofeo Las Cortes de San Fernando—a tournament featuring 23 teams from Spain and Portugal—as well as an inclusive school. Within the competitive divisions, the senior male team competing in provincial plays as the highest-ranking squad.

XXIX Torneo Ciudad de El Puerto

The day’s activities also highlighted the XXIX Torneo Ciudad de El Puerto. Organized by Club Baloncesto Portuense with support from the Ayuntamiento, the Diputación de Cádiz, and the Junta de Andalucía, the tournament features approximately 600 players across 42 total squads.

In addition to the tournament matches, the schedule includes two official games: an Infantil Femenino Copa A match between CBP Edase and SD Candray, and a Senior Masculino encounter pitting CBP Ayuda T Pymes against ULB.
