RC Strasbourg winger Gessime Yassine is nearing a transfer to Chelsea under an internal multi-club arrangement, according to comments made by Dunkerque goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon in an interview with the daily newspaper Ouest-France.
Dunkerque Coach Outlines Stamford Bridge Move
Lollichon, who spent 15 years as a goalkeeping coach at Stamford Bridge before departing in 2022, stated that the 20-year-old Moroccan international is positioned to follow a direct path between the two clubs. “Today, Gessime Yassine plays for Strasbourg, but he is almost at Chelsea,” Lollichon said in the interview published by Ouest-France.
The potential transaction is facilitated by the shared ownership structure of the two clubs under the BlueCo consortium. The ownership framework mirrors previous player movements between the French side and the London club, including transfers completed by Valentin Barco and Emmanuel Emegha.
Market Valuation and Contract Terms
Transfermarkt estimates Yassine’s current market value at 20 million euros. His contract with RC Strasbourg runs through June 30, 2030.
Yassine arrived in Strasbourg during the winter transfer window from USL Dunkerque for a reported fee of 7 million euros. Since joining the Ligue 1 club, the right winger has made 25 appearances across all competitions, contributing two goals and three assists. At the international level, he has earned nine senior caps and scored one goal for the Morocco national team.
Transfer Strategy at Stamford Bridge
The Premier League club has frequently targeted young prospects within international networks for operational development and subsequent market activity. Recent windows have seen the club navigate high-profile moves, including the departures of Enzo Fernández to Manchester City, Andrey Santos to Manchester United, Nicolas Jackson to Aston Villa, and Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, establishing a pattern of active squad turnover under the current ownership.
