Club América celebrated its 110th anniversary on October 12, drawing a wave of public felicitations from domestic rivals, international powerhouses, and governing bodies across world football.
International Giants and European Leagues Honor the Milestone
Clubs from across Europe acknowledged the historic marker for the Liga MX side through official social media channels. English club Chelsea published a statement on its Spanish-language X account noting the longevity of the rivalry and history between global football institutions. “Rivales por 90 minutos. Amigos por 110 años de historia. ¡Feliz aniversario, Club América,” the London club wrote.
Ligue 1 participant AS Monaco also marked the occasion online. The French club shared a message stating, “Vuelen alto, Águilas. ¡Felices 110 años de grandeza, Club América!,” via its official Spanish-language social media feed.
Italian top-flight competition Serie A joined the international acknowledgments early in the day, posting a tribute that called the milestone a historical moment for a historic club. The league paired its message with an archival photograph of former América goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, who spent two separate stints with the Azulcremas between 2003 and 2011 and 2019 to 2023, alongside his time with Italian club Salernitana.
Domestic Rivals and National Federation Pay Tribute
Within Mexican football, several Liga MX and Liga de Expansión clubs joined the observance. Teams including Atlante, FC Juárez, and Tigres issued statements congratulating the club on reaching 110 years of existence. The felicitations arrived as the club navigates its ongoing Apertura campaign, following a 1-1 draw against Rayados de Monterrey.
Institutional leadership also marked the date. The Mexican Football Federation (FMF), the national team setup, and Liga MX published synchronized messages celebrating both the men’s squad and Club América Femenil. “El Club América y América Femenil celebran hoy su cumpleaños. ¡Feliz aniversario!,” the FMF stated, while Liga MX added a message recognizing 110 years of history for the institution.
Club owner Emilio Azcárraga acknowledged the anniversary by emphasizing the competitive culture of the organization, stating that the club’s DNA requires a constant pursuit of further success. Head coach André Jardine also released remarks describing the organization as living history as the squad prepares for its upcoming fixtures on the domestic calendar.
