Changchun CIOMP Badminton Association Announces 2026 Employee Team and Individual Tournament Rules and Registration Deadline

Tournament Structure and Registration Rules

The upcoming competition features both a team event—specifically a five-player mixed team relay—and individual categories for men’s doubles and mixed doubles. Departmental teams must consist of three men and two women without age restrictions. For the team competition, departments with more than 100 members cannot form joint teams, while departments may combine with one other department, provided their total membership does not exceed 180 individuals. Graduate students may form a dedicated team or compete for their assigned laboratory department, though individuals cannot represent both categories. Each eligible department may also invite one outside employee or graduate student to join their roster.

Continuous 50-Point Relay Format Determines Team Winners

Group and knockout matches in the team competition utilize a continuous 50-point relay format divided into five segments, where pairs rotate sequentially through positions one through five. Matches progress as the first pair plays to 10 points before substituting out, the second pair plays to 20 points, the third to 30, the fourth to 40, and the final pair plays until one team reaches 50 points to win. Teams switch ends at 25 points, and matches feature no rest pauses. Group stage ties are resolved by point differentials, with the top two teams from each group advancing. Individual men’s doubles and mixed doubles take place after the team tournament under a single-elimination format, featuring 31-point single games with a side switch at 16 points and no pauses.

Registration Forms Are Due by November 10

Participants must submit completed registration forms to [email protected] by Tuesday, November 10, 2026, using the subject line format specified by organizers. Wang Xiaoming and Wang Qidong oversee tournament administration at 0431-86176813. Organizers noted that participation relies on a voluntary, risk-aware basis, prohibiting individuals with medical conditions unsuited for badminton from entering the tournament.
